Active students who have completed courses in educational venues other
than Bridge Builders University or have ministerial experience may receive recognition for their work through putting together a portfolio. This recognition will be given for college courses taken or ministerial work performed prior to enrollment as a student at Bridge Builders University.

This requires the submission of a portfolio, transcripts, certificates, diplomas and a
ministerial resume, letters of reference and license/ordination and or affirmation to the Bridge Builders University Office for evaluation. The completion units awarded through this procedure are used to help determine the level of placement of the student. This will give the student needed information as to the number of courses required for graduation. There is a $250 one time application fee to perform the evaluation for prior learning credit to be awarded.

General Guidelines
The Bridge Builders University Office will follow these general guidelines in awarding Advanced Standing for prior learning:
Advanced Standing awarded is officially applied to a student’s transcript
only upon completion of the residency requirement of five courses (15
units) and payment of applicable fees. $300 per course
All appropriate documents must be submitted in a single request to the
Bridge Builders University Office. There will be fees for recognition of ministerial experience and non-accredited theological education.
Students gather all transcripts, resumes, certificates, diplomas, letters of reference etc., for submission to the Dean of Bridge Builders University. Bridge Builders University will then send the complete package to our universities governing board for evaluation.
Although the amount of Advanced Standing awarded for ministerial
experience may be limited by the number of years of experience
documented, the review of material submitted will be concerned primarily
with the skills, knowledge, and abilities gained rather than on the length of
experience. After, the evaluation you may receive advance academic credit either for a Associate, Bachelor, Masters or doctoral degree after the 15 units of residency have been completed.

Evaluation of Accredited Non-Theological College Courses
Students having earned college credit or degrees in fields other than theology from accredited institutions may receive up to sixty (60) units of advanced standing for this work. This placement is determined by the evaluation of transcripts submitted by the requesting student and endorsed by the local school’s dean. Courses must have a GPA of 2.0 or more (C). Grades of D or below will not be accepted. There is no fee for these units.

Evaluation of Accredited Theological College Courses
Students having earned college credit in an accredited theology program may receive full recognition for their work. This placement is determined by the evaluation of transcripts submitted by the requesting student. Courses must have a GPA of 2.0 (C) or higher. Grades of D or below will not be accepted. There is no limit placed on the number of units of advanced standing that can be awarded and there is no fee for accredited theological education.

Non-accredited Non-Theological Studies
Advanced standing is not awarded for this work.

Non-accredited Theological Studies
Students will attach a transcript for each school or class attended that includes a report of the number of contact hours with a qualified faculty. There is no limit placed on the number of units of advanced standing that can be awarded for non-accredited theological education. Courses must have a GPA of 2.0 (C) or higher. Grades of D or below will not be accepted. There is a fee for units awarded.

Evaluation of Ministerial Experience
Ministerial experience advanced standing may be awarded to applicants, especially licensed, ordained or affirmed ministers. Ministerial experience is recognized up to a maximum award of sixty units for ordained full-time senior pastors or its equivalent or for full-time associate pastors or its equivalent. A maximum award of thirty units may be awarded for key lay leaders. Resumes must specify whether ministerial work is full-time or part-time. Copies of licenses and/or ordination certificates must be submitted. There is a fee for units awarded.

Eligibility Requirements:

Demonstrated Global or Community Impact

10+ years of documented service, leadership, or contributions in your area of calling.

Proven history of transformational leadership in ministry, marketplace, missions, or community outreach.

Alignment with Biblical Principles & Kingdom Mandate

Evident spiritual maturity, integrity, and alignment with the mission of advancing the Kingdom of
God.

A life that reflects the values of excellence, servanthood, and faith-driven influence.

Peer or Organizational Nomination

Nominee must be recommended by a recognized leader, organization, or ministry.

A letter of recommendation and endorsement must accompany the nomination.

Portfolio Submission

Curriculum Vitae or Resume outlining professional and ministry background.

Evidence of published works, media presence, community service, or organizational leadership.

Links to videos, websites, or relevant content that highlights the nominee’s work.

Personal Statement (1–2 pages)

“Why I Serve” – A reflection on the calling, journey, and legacy of your life’s work.

Include major accomplishments and future vision.
